We have all been there. We cannot deny that retail coffee stores have been on the rise in the last two to three years, with newer chains opening such as Pret and 200° popping up all over the country. With that, I am going to review and critique the assorted coffee shops available on the high street... Starbucks Okay, so their drinks are loaded with sugar and they are tax dodging mo-fos... enough said. They are possibly the biggest coffee chain in the world, strong American enterprise with a laid back atmosphere, predominantly aimed at business people and students... From my experience, the staff are somewhat brutal, with their systematic ordering process, although they try to personalise your visit by asking for your name then scribbling it on the cup. Whenever I eat an Avocado, its always the same procedure. The excitement arises as I slice it in half, the anticipation boils up inside me as I prepare it methodically, lovingly though somewhat impulsively, a bit like smoking a joint, for example. The intention is to grasp its affect and take time to attend to its sweet existence. Its got that familiar taste, soft texture and creamy flavour. I know as soon as the idea to dine on such a fruit appears as a desire in my mind, that hedonistic version of me begs like a child for this minor pleasure, reveals that I truly do appreciate its delicacy by all innocence.  Although I know before I register its progress from palm to stomach, that it will have been and gone before I can acknowledge its beauty and exoticism. A polite notice for future investors I didn't sleep all night, and I was worried about my future accommodation arrangements, how I would afford my bills and who I had been getting involved with, these last few weeks so much, that I waited for the shop to legally sell alcohol (10am) and I ended up with a bottle of Buckfast, by chance. I took it home, and altered my state of conscience, because I didn't believe in my own capacity to cope with belittlement of greedy landlords. This day I made my own, guided by the spirit and the knowledge that I had left my old life for a reason, secure in the moment of full awareness of my own being. I am still learning to achieve this with out drugs or alcohol. I am happy to say that I have quit smoking again, and I reserve a small bottle of Vodka on my dressing table, but that is all for now.
