Addictions, or lack of.

Click this pic to hear more about the whacky craze spawning all over YT Jenna Marbles does a weirdly awesome version on her channel 1. Beauty Products This one is especially directed at the Ladies, although I can't prejudice and suppose that men do not use beauty products from time to time, even if it is just a moisturiser or grooming tools, however the fact is applying make up becomes ritualistic and a 'can't live with out' for most women on a day to day basis. I believe that application of make up etc. can become an addiction to the extent that an individual cannot so much as pop to the corner shop with out a full coverage of face art. Reapplying make up throughout the day is not a foreign concept in the western world, whether it be discreetly during lectures, pruning in the office or simply a slight touch up trip in the public toilets, you can never go too far with out catching someone checking them selves out in a mirror. The same convention goes for tan...

Beauty is in the Eye of the beholder

What is beauty? To see clearly one must encounter spiritual truth, that they should allow themselves to recognise that we all have aspects and parts of our physical bodies that we aren't so proud of, however instead of being overwhelmed and warped by images of ladies in fashion magazines and advertisements, we should carefully examine our bodies and learn to appreciate, adapt and adore our flaws more than comparatively towards marketed visuals. For example we may have an extremely distorted self esteem, due to ill-health, and the societal pressures to conform to certain aesthetic standards, even in desperate moments we may consider options such as surgery and expensive procedures to erase so-called 'blemishes' or 'imperfections' that in reality aren't what these labels entice at all. They are in fact, naturally occurring phenomena of what it means to be a human being. With that, I believe the most important element of living in the modern world is how we feel o...

As I Apply My War Paint...

Pardon my tan-tastically orange hands/ porcelain face combo. I do feel like a nob.  Hello Girls. I know the title sounds as alluring as that, however, I am not planning on writing an entire article about the pains of being a woman in society, I have dealt with the pangs of man-hate quite enough already and internalised those vicious ideas since I am all about gender equality.  I thought I would revert to the softer tone of this blog, that being about beauty products and fashion.  In hindsight, I feel that personally I have been objectified by men whether I have always been conscious of it or not, the female physique is a fascination motivating their diligence, nevertheless. Likewise, I am aware of the many women, struggling with this unfair development. With very little provocation, I have been subjected to the perversion of strange, unsolicited men in public, near my home and around the workplace. This has had an impact on my self-este...

Bed Head & My New Friend

Hello loyal readers! I have to say, that I am really enjoying keeping this blog. Although that may come across as sarcastic, which is generally a problem when it comes to the weird world of words, especially in techie-land, where you can never be 100% sure how serious the sender of your message is being with out the context and aid of emoticons, what I am writing now may seem like it is slightly rehearsed or even bland. Yet this is far from the truth, I always write off the bat and usually in the company of some decent music (by my books) and my infallible research skills, as I don't like to say anything with out doing my homework first, to avoid humiliation for my inaccurate information later. I also do not condemn the grammar Nazis onslaught of correction, need be it. This morning I woke up, as I usually do (in fact, I don't think I've had a day in my life where I hadn't woken up eventually) and I felt a bit rough, unfortunately, I have been suffering migraines ...

My Make Up Routine!

Image
Previously I've been complimented on my make up skills, I think using colours that compliment your skin tone, eye colour and facial features is a positive practice, since my mother always said that, "A little powder can make you feel better on those  days!" You're horrendously hung-over, perhaps you had a restless nights sleep and those dark circles are making you feel more ghoulish than glamorous, do not fear, I am no 'expert' in the cosmetics department however, I do believe I have a way of disguising my blemishes and braving it into society when necessary! So with out further comment, I shall reveal the products I've been using lately, that won't break the bank...  For a fresh face I begin with a cleanser from LUSH . It is all natural ingredients, since I feel that abrasive soaps and face scrubs make my skin rough and dry, I have been getting on well with this alternative to the potent chemicals present in commercial washes. LU...

Upon discovering an advert for the SKN Heritage Museum event, a fashion show organised to raise funds, inventory donations for the establishing museum; to celebrate a diverse display showcasing tons of treasures from the 50's to contemporary trends of today, which was hosted at the House of Fraser, Victoria Centre. After an inspirational speech, some banter and bubbles, the catwalk was brought to life with the hustle and anticipation of what was in awe for the evening. We began with some gorgeous evening and formal wear, which was absolutely, beautifully modelled by the girls.  Each with their unique presence, in style and in characteristics, we were all really pleased for them, they had entertained us with some really well-orchestrated looks of Spring/Summer '15. The casual looks also did not fail to quench our thirst for fresh fashion ideas. The night included some make-up tutorials however, I wandered into the store to unveil my own tips of the evening with a de...
