Home is where the Heart is

"You can't just be a blogger, you have to become your blog. Essentially you are selling your self as art. Life is a novelty; it is short and sweet, rippled with the blandness of vanilla clock-faces. I say this because as individual civilians, we are all affected by copious measures of information and pragmatic guidance, in hope that the promises of our goals and desires will be fulfilled. Although it does not always seem this way, endurance is the true path to love and success. This is a diplomatic approach." SW I had to move house yet again. This time I was substantially annoyed by my landlord whom I had consoled in about my 'depicted' criminal and mental health history. He had assured me that I would be safe and comfortable in a top floor flat in my old area under his inclusive contract. To my dismay I found my self, briefly latter to this agreement, that my neighbours were in fact posting ferocious and inappropriate notes under my door as to coldly threaten ...

The Girl Next Door...

Is it just me, or does it seem ever more insurmountable to establish meaningful relationships with people, of both genders, vice-versa. Whether you are looking for platonic ones or romantic encounters, the possibilities appear endless. With the art of new modes of communication, there are barely any excuses to find new friends and exciting lovers. In my limited perspective of 22 years, extensive study of psychology and sociology, I have discovered an element that contributes to the meaning of life. It is purely in those that we meet, the connections that we build and the quality of the time that we spend with said company. Admittedly, this is rooted in how much we go out of our boundaries or comfort zone to be around other human beings. Religion, employment and area of habitation all play key roles in finding these counterparts to our existence. We are in essence, the people that we spend our time with. It is too permissible in the modern age to avoid relationships all together if y...

Seven Pence

They say if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. I wish to express how important it is remind ourselves daily, that we should not allow societal pressures to overwhelm us too much. That we are all on our own unique path in life, and that you should never condemn yourself for feeling like you haven't achieved enough.  That somehow you are behind, or not doing good enough. The reality is, we are all in this gridlocked web of competitiveness, greed and survival. You should never feel guilty for attempting to create conditions that are more comfortable for yourself, because everyone is doing the same thing. It doesn't matter how long it takes you, how many times you fail, as long as you get back up again, fighting, then the world is your playground. See all the immigrants coming to the UK for a nicer lifestyle, for greater opportunities, somewhere to bring up their families in a safer, kinder environment. It is only natural that we want to make ourselves a happier home, and...

Writer's Block

I guess a blog can be many things. It can be a source of useful and entertaining information for the public, or it can be a very intimate diary of events of an individual's life. When I began this blog, I intended on it being a bit of both. Most of all, I wanted it to be fun, with the hope that it would act as a device to reach out to unassuming browsers of the internet. Maybe it has succeeded in doing just that. Now I wonder what else I can do with my writing. I really do look on the bright side of life; when my family or a friend of mine is in a crisis, I tend to reflect on those occurrences with empathy and as much understanding as I can possibly conceive. I have this ability, or disability, depending on your level of optimism, that gives me what I believe to be extra sensory perceptive qualities. So lately, I have found my life crashing before my eyes, everything I built and stressed over to behold, has washed away, been taken from my grasp, as well as my sanity. The...

My Experience with Alternative Therapy

Image
image: holisticshop.co.uk Greetings. I have recently been on a turbulent trip through something very traumatic. After having a pleasant rest and well-earned holiday, I decided to bite the bullet and pluck the courage to visit a psychic medium and an energy healer in the same day. My sleep pattern of late has been haywire, having late nights and missing entire mornings. I also met a lady based in Camden for a tarot reading about a year ago, unfortunately, I did not find her advice or talent very useful or coherent. On this occasion, I approached more positively and I did a little research, to find a woman called Samantha Hamilton. She featured on television some years ago, predicting future occurrences in football matters, that she is herself was entirely unrelated to. She claims to have had no interest in the subject. I wanted to share my perspective on the subject since I know a lot of people are curious/ skeptical/ afraid of such phenomena. I have desired to see a person such...

Alternative Fashion

I think what we need to see on more blogs, Pinterest boards, and in mainstream media, that shall deliver triumph, power and attitude; a long debated statement in the fashion world - be it more a lifestyle as opposed to a 'phase' or 'trend'... that's 'alternative' to you and me! Recently, with the changing seasons, some reflection and a revamp in my wardrobe, I have re-discovered my love for alternative fashion. It's true, we associate goth, punk, rocker, emo, scene etc. with the varied taste in music, selective choice of bands, brands and style icons. In conjunction with this particular look, it is permissive for the collection who may feel they do not fall into a category outside of this spectrum, in regards to pop-culture, that I believe deserves further appreciation. Not All Hippie Types Take Drugs

Hi. It's about time I wrote something again for my readers! I have had an exponential roller coaster as usual since my last post. I have lost myself, attached to past events which are no longer existing in the present and unfortunately it has held me back in some ways. This blog entry is to identify a particularly odd episode of my life. It does involve recent events in Notts, fashion and of course, it's most important quality- is it's people! You know when you are just laying awake at night thinking about someone or something that just won't leave you and you are baffled at its power over your mind, we all have those nights. The key is to remain strong and take pleasure in the little things, even if it is just a cup of coffee on your settee in the morning, in the peace of your own abode. My fashion today consists of a pair of harem pants which are loose and lightweight material, especially nice for riding my bike in the sunshine. Remember, it is the little th...
